19 fragrances I previously owned
An archive of the 19 fragrances I previously owned and what this journey explains about the evolution of my current collection.

Before my current collection of 23 fragrances, I owned another 19 fragrances. Recording these bottles matters because a collection does not begin with what remains on the shelf today. It is also built through bottles that were finished, gifted, shared or simply stopped being part of it.
This article is an ownership archive, not a retrospective ranking. Having owned a fragrance proves that I lived with it, but it does not automatically mean that I recommend it, miss it or would buy it again. Without detailed personal ratings, I prefer not to invent memories or turn this list into a review.
Quick answer: what my former collection shows
The 19 former fragrances reveal a fairly clear evolution:
| Stage or lesson | Examples from the archive |
|---|---|
| Easy fresh scents and daily fragrances | Polo Blue, CK One, CK be, CK Everyone and Nike Ultra Green Man |
| Recognizable and versatile designers | Born in Roma, Boss Bottled Night, Diesel Only The Brave and Tommy Impact |
| Sweeter or night-out fragrances | Festival Nite, Halloween Man X and Odyssey Mandarin Sky |
| First contact with oud and Middle Eastern perfumery | Bade'e Al Oud Oud for Glory |
| Accessible experimentation | Mercadona Monoi, Zara Green Savage, Springfield and Victorio & Lucchino |
My current collection is stronger, more focused on Middle Eastern perfumery and more varied for cold weather. This archive, however, shows that its foundation was fresher, more accessible and centered on easy-to-wear fragrances.
The fresh scents that built the foundation
Ralph Lauren Polo Blue, Calvin Klein CK One, CK be, CK Everyone Eau de Toilette, Nike Ultra Green Man, Nike Indigo Man, Springfield Sport Attitude and Mercadona Monoi form the most functional part of the archive.
Although I will not assign ratings that I did not document, owning several fresh, easy references explains why this category remains important. Today, that role is divided between fragrances such as Kaaf, Hawas Tropical, Agua Fresca, Como Tu Viento and Nike Aromatic Addiction Man.
The difference is that I now want every fresh scent to have a clearer function: extreme heat, office, gym, casual summer wear or a versatile option with stronger performance.
From Odyssey Mandarin Sky to Odyssey Mandarin Sky Elixir
The most direct comparison between past and present is Armaf Odyssey Mandarin Sky. It is no longer in my collection, but I currently own Odyssey Mandarin Sky Elixir and want to sample or add other members of the Odyssey family.
This continuity is useful because it proves that my interest in the line did not begin only after seeing it on social media. I have already owned one of its references and can now compare its variants using previous experience.
My target collection list includes Odyssey Mandarin Sky Vintage Edition, Odyssey Aqua Edition, Go Mango, Homme and Dubai Chocolat. The question for each is not whether it completes the line, but whether it provides a different use from the original Mandarin Sky I owned and the Elixir I keep.
The evolution of my night-out fragrances
Hollister Festival Nite For Him, Halloween Man X, Boss Bottled Night, Diesel Only The Brave and Valentino Uomo Born in Roma provided experience with designer fragrances and references intended for situations beyond warm-weather daily wear.
My current collection takes this area towards sweeter, spicier and denser profiles: Afnan 9pm, Khamrah, Khamrah Qahwa, Hawas Elixir, Asad and Zara Rich Warm Addictive.
I am not claiming that the current bottles are better than the former ones. What has changed is the selection criterion: I now compare each bottle's role, potential redundancy and the difference it adds over fragrances I already own.
Oud for Glory as an entry point
Lattafa Bade'e Al Oud Oud for Glory stands out in the archive because it represents an early contact with stronger profiles and Middle Eastern perfumery. That exploration continues today with Azzure Oud, Amberwood Nomad and Vintage Radio, and also appears in my interest in sampling fragrances such as Oud Maracuja, Ombre Nomade and Oud Wood.
I do not need to claim that Oud for Glory was a favorite to recognize its importance in the journey. Owning a reference like this helps interpret which types of oud, leather, amber or wood I want to explore now.
Why keep an archive of fragrances I no longer own
Without this history, a collection can look like a static snapshot. Keeping it provides several advantages:
- it prevents accidentally buying a fragrance I already owned but do not remember clearly;
- it reveals families and brands that repeatedly return;
- it supports comparisons between originals and flankers;
- it shows how taste and buying criteria change;
- it separates nostalgia, curiosity and a genuine collection need.
It also makes any future recommendation system more honest. Understanding my taste requires more than analyzing what I own now: the fragrances that left the collection contain equally important information.

The clearest connections with my current collection

These connections do not mean that one bottle exactly replaced another. They show how previous experience can guide a new decision.
Conclusion
My complete collection is not only formed by the 23 bottles I own now. It also includes these 19 former fragrances because they helped build reference points around freshness, versatility, night-out scents, designers and Middle Eastern perfumery.
